Symsie Suds – good for your body

Citronella soap
Perfect Citronella Soap is brightly coloured with cosmetic grade oxides

So, it turns out I make soap now. Not only do I make soap, I make THE most amazing soap I’ve ever used. It’s creamy and luscious and has the most amazing suds. Best of all, unlike commercial soap-makers, I leave the glycerin in the bar for extra moisturizing properties!

Symsie Suds are made with the best ingredients available, and I keep things as naturally pure as possible. Scents come from essential oils, and colours often come from natural products like pure cocoa powder, beet root juice, and turmeric infused sunflower oil .

I do like to play with micas and oxides for colour as well, and adore the fabulous swirls these brights colours can create. The vibrancy in these coloured soaps makes them stand apart from their more natural counterparts.

Whether you’re looking for a pure all natural soap with no colours or scent added, or a brightly coloured and playful soap to match your mood and decor, look no further. Symsie Suds has the soap your skin needs.

How is Symsie Suds different?

Beautiful Hemp SoapMy soaps are made with lye, or sodium hydroxide, because I start at the beginning of the soap making process. Although the thought of working with lye kind of freaked me out in the beginning, saponification fascinates me, and the whole process of making soap is oddly satisfying.

If the fact that all soap is made with a caustic substance kind of freaks you out, rest assured that there is no lye left after the saponification process. The lye is completely gone once the chemical reaction is complete, and you are left with luscious, luxurious soap that’s full of naturally produced glycerin and other moisturizing benefits. You can learn more about the soap making process here!

To make Symsie Suds even more beneficial for your skin, I add a Super-Fat like cocoa butter, avocado oil or sunflower oil at a 5% ratio. What this means is that 5% of the fat used in making my soap does not completely saponify. Instead, these healthy oils remain in the soap to mix with the glycerin to help soften and soothe your skin.

Always remember, use the soap you have before trying your Symsie Suds because you will not want to go back to anything else!

For now, I’ll be selling through my website, and I’ve managed to get myself into a few markets this summer. I’m also hoping to someday find a retail outlet or two, but we’ll see what the future brings.
